The trailer gives a new look at Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, in a world of pink.
Barbie was co-written by Greta Gerwig and her partner, director Noah Baumbach, while the cast also includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, and Will Ferrell, who will play the CEO of Mattel, among others.
The film focuses on the famous doll, who was expelled from Barbieland for not having a perfect appearance and decides to jump into the human world to find true happiness.
In an interview, Margot Robbie revealed that this live-action is a dream come true: “ We have been immersed in this project for about four or five years, it is a LuckyChap production. And we were always clear that we wanted to go for Greta. Thank God she said yes because there weren’t that many people interested and she’s just brilliant .”
