Junior Home Minister Ajay Mishra Teni was recently spotted meeting Home Minister Amit Shah at the ministry of home affairs, New Delhi. The two met after Uttar Pradesh police lodged an FIR in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri case, in which two SUVs killed eight protestors. The FIR mentions Ashish Mishra, Ajay Mishra’s son, as one of the culprits.
However, the junior minister has denied any links between his son and the unfortunate incident and had earlier stated that the driver of his car lost balance after being attacked by stone pelters.
“My son was not there in the car. After the car was attacked, the driver was injured, the car lost its balance and ran over a few people present there. I have expressed sympathies towards those who have lost their lives. There should be an unbiased probe,” he had stated, adding, “The party high command has not summoned me. I will be reaching Delhi tonight or tomorrow as I have few works lined up.”
Amid the ongoing controversy, the opposition has demanded resignation from Ajay Mishra, and there were speculations that he met Amit Shah about the resignation.
As per the First Information Report, lodged by Jagjit Singh, a resident of Bahraich district, the entire incident was deliberate. Also, the conspiracy was hatched by the minister and his son.
If to believe the reports and minister’s words, the car overturned, and the driver inside died immediately. The minister said his son wasn’t present in the car. “Had he been there, he would not have survived.”
