Graphics cards are not going through their best moment: exorbitant prices, component shortages, speculation by miners… Despite everything, Nvidia has plans to launch its 4000 series in the coming months and the information that reaches us is worrying for our pocket.

As release times approach, leakers begin the season of releasing forecasts and approximations. Some hit and others shoot into the air. That is why we must take with care the information that we bring today.

Nvidia is said to be going crazy with its next generation Ada Lovelace graphics cards . That madness comes because the RTX 4090, which will be one of the next high-end models, would consume 600 W , which is an increase of more than 70% compared to the 350 W of the current 3090.

But to this we must add that, according to a well-known leaker, Nvidia would be preparing an RTX 3090 graphics card that would consume 900 W , which would make it the most demanding GPU in the history of gaming graphics.

” In fact, there is another SKU of AD102 with 900W TDP, 48G 24Gbps GDDR6X, 2x16pin and higher frequency. But it is not known if it will become a real product. Because AD102 breadboard has more than two 16pin connectors , so anything is possible ,” explains Kopite on his Twitter.

This 900W card is said to be the AD102 GPU, which features 48GB of 24Gbps GDDR6X memory and the unit is powered by two 16-pin PCIe 5.0 power connectors. Each of these 16-pin connectors is capable of delivering 600W of power.

So, with two of them on board, there should be a bit more wiggle room for this alleged 900W card. The leaker believes this GPU may be a real possibility , as the AD102 test boards reportedly carry more than two 16-pin PCIe power cables.

Kopite7kimi has also revealed the alleged specifications of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 GPUs: The RTX 4080 would be based on the AD103 chip and will have 16 GB of GDDR6X memory, while the RTX 4070 would be based on the AD104 chip and will have 12 GB. GDDR6 memory.

As for consumption, what is said is that the 4070 had a TDP of 300 W (the RTX 3070 has a TDP of 220 W), while the RTX 4080 would have a TDP of 500 W (when the current RTX 3080 consumes 320W).
